Former Luiss student, Federica Fabiana was shortlisted by Forbes as one of the best Under 35 lobbyists. Today, Federica is a member of the Cattaneo Zanetti & Co. team, a leading Italian public affairs, lobbying and political intelligence firm.

“I studied Political Sciences as an undergraduate degree and then continued my studies to complete a Master’s Degree in Public Policies. I spent my second year in Argentina at the "Uade" Argentine University of Enterprise in Buenos Aires, a wonderful and enriching experience”. Federica then returned to Rome and graduated, presenting a thesis on “An Analysis and Evaluation of Public Policies” that scored full marks. Professor Efisio Espa was Federica’s thesis supervisor who guided her in the writing process. Federica described Professor Espa to be “a highly regarded profile in the field of institutions” and who provided her with the necessary tools to enter her current consulting job”. Federica reported to be very grateful towards her professor whom she considers a guiding point of reference, who taught and trained her “to become a consultant and a conscious citizen”.

Regarding the University’s main strengths, Federica mentioned the community that Luiss manages to create among its students via its large network of students and Alumni. “Luiss not only offered guidance in academic terms, but provided students all-round support. Thanks to this support, I had the opportunity to get involved in various projects, such as organizing one of the independent TED events and participating in the Luiss Contest”. Federica reiterated that one of Luiss's added values is, “it helps students to develop skills that set them apart from others. Having Luiss on your CV is highly valued in the world of work”.

Federica recalled the beautiful times at the University and stated: “I loved Luiss with all my heart so much so I find it hard to identify a best memory. If I had to choose, I would say Graduation Day”. She described that day not only as the celebration of graduation, but a celebration of shared academic achievements with her classmates. As Federica put it, “Graduation Day goes beyond graduation itself, it’s a celebration of relationships”.

Federica’s plans for the future are to continue to develop and work in Italy, contributing to the growth for the company she currently works for. This is contrary to her expectations where she saw herself working abroad.

Federica’s advice to students is to keep up their commitment to study but above all, to never give up striving. It is essential to remember where you started, to treasure all experiences and not be afraid to approach career paths that appear to be distant fields from your own.

Federica stated: “listening and being humble are important to me” and are two characteristics she believes can support students in their development both within and outside university.
