In 2020, Luiss won nine new PhD scholarships, competing on the national scale and receiving funding for every project presented.
All of the newly financed PhD projects include collaboration with business, both in Italy and abroad, allowing the Ph.D. programs in Management and Law and Business to be deemed Innovative Interdisciplinary Doctoral Programs.

The University obtained two scholarships to the PhD in Law and Business for 2020/2021. The two projects focus on themes linked to marginalized areas of Italy. The projects - both financed - placed first and fourth out of a total 396 programs presented from across the country.
The PhD candidates will spend a period of study and research at a local business in internal and marginalized areas of the country or in local companies involved in developing internal areas. They will also have the opportunity to spend a period of study and research in a foreign country working with local administration.

The University has obtained two scholarships to the PhD in Management and three scholarships for the PhD in Law and Business for 2020/2021. The projects presented are linked to themes related to innovation and digital technology and require candidates to involve a company. The University has obtained two scholarships, one for the PhD in Management and the other for the PhD in Law and Business for 2020/2021. The two projects are linked to the theme of Industry 4.0.The projects require partnering with companies in Italy where the candidate can partially develop their project and periods of study and research abroad with foreign offices of the partner and/or other universities.
