On February 20, the Viale Pola campus hosted a presentation of the new second- level master's degree program in Fashion Law, offered by the Luiss School of Law.

The program, offered entirely in English, is dedicated to shaping legal experts, specialized in issues related to the fashion sector, starts in October 2019.

Participating in the event were Luiss Vice President Paola Severino, Director of the School of Law Antonio Nuzzo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Enzo Moavero Milanesi,  Valentino CEO Stefano Sassi and Director of the Master Angela Del Vecchio

Vice President Paola Severino commented on the new course offerings: "The School of Law continues its specialization of young jurists, strenthening their abilities related to key sectors of the Italian economy, from food to art and now fashion. The new master's program aims to create professionals, as specific as they are precious, to strengthen the development of Italian business in the world."

With annual earnings of €67 billion, 2.7% growth in 2017 and a 3.5% increase in exports, Italian fashion is a point of national pride. 

The Luiss Master in Fashion Law focuses precisely on this strategic sector, as declared by School of Law Director Antonio Nuzzo: "The Master in Fashion Law offers a high-level approach in English in a key sector for our country, aiming to train both in-house and external legal experts to protect and develop the business of Italian fashion houses."

The new program focuses on training lawyers and specialized consultants, responding to the needs of both Italian and international brands. "The course offering provides all the necessary instruments to acquire legal skills to protect products created by brands: from the idea to production all the way to sales, with a focus on protecting brands and on studies on laws regarding copyright and privacy," stated Director of the Mater Angela Del Vecchio. She added: "Participants in the course will obtain a qualified, specialized and operative knowledge of different legal themes of interest to the fashion sector, on both the European and international levels."

The faculty of the program includes, among others, heads of fashion house legal departments such as Bernard Khun, General Counsel of LVMH Paris, Sergio Marini, General Counsel of Fendi, Louise Firestone, Senior Vice President General Counsel LVMH, Paula Viola, Head of Legal for IMG Models and Fashion, as well as other prominent lawyers, academics and experts.

The master's program in Fashion Law starts in October 2019. Lessons are held on Fridays and Saturdays on the Luiss Viale Pola campus.
