The new graduate, Virginia Vergari completed a Master’s Degree Course in International Relations. “I began my university career choosing political science and then grew a strong interest in international politics and the development of international relations”.

During her university experience, the Alumna was greatly supported by her family, in particular by her grandmother and aunt, both Luiss graduates. “My grandmother graduated in Sociology in 1974 when the University was called Pro Deo. She supported my aunt in making her university choice, who graduated in Political Science in the academic year 1984/85”.

Virginia’s most cherished memory of her university years is linked to Freshers’ Day. She stated: “When I walked the Viale Romania campus for the first time and familiarized with the grounds that would become my home for the next 5 years, I was struck by the students’ deep sense of belonging to the University”. She added: “My grandmother and my aunt recall with great affection the University’s care towards its students, the quality of the teaching staff, and the relationship with students”.

Virginia’s advice to students entering the university world is “to have perseverance, develop clear ideas, take advantage of all opportunities, and always push yourself”.

For the future, Virginia hopes to find an internship to help develop her professional profile and strive towards working in institutions “particularly the European Commission”.
