On Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. in Villa Blanc’s ballroom, LUISS presented its new research magazine, LUISS Open.
LUISS Open was established to develop research and teaching, giving a new voice to instructors, students, managers and influencers on a wide variety of topics and current themes, and easing the circulation of research papers and results outside of the academic community to create an open dialog with public opinion.
“The platform,” explains Luigi Serra, LUISS Executive Vice President, seeks to be an aggregator of ideas and a place for in-depth analysis for both the public and the academic community, aiming to trigger and nourish debate on modernization and development through authoritative analysis and proposals.”
The contents of LUISS Open provide brief synopsis of research performed by LUISS scholars with links to the authors’ original texts in order to stimulate participation of LUISS faculty in current topics of national and international relevance ranging from economics to European politics, from open society and its challenges to entrepreneurship as more than a business strategy but a genuine mindset.
“LUISS Open is an inclusive project,” declares LUISS Deputy Rector Andrea Prencipe,” into which the University is putting all of its strength and depth of its research with the aim of sharing and exchanging knowledge on an international level on themes ranging from economics to European politics, from open society and its challenges to entrepreneurship as more than a business strategy but a genuine mindset.”
“The University’s research magazine,” adds LUISS General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto, was launched forty years after the University’s founding, in a symbol of restored beauty that represents a cultural and social investment for LUISS, Villa Blanc. We are particularly proud that the magazine should be launched from this prestigious campus to become an independent, free and open point of reference for the entire community.”
Led by Deputy Rector Andrea Prencipe, the LUISS Open editorial board includes Michel Martone, professor of Labor Law, Paolo Peverini, recently nominated Consulter of the Secretariat for Communication at the Vatican and vice director of the X.ITE research center on behavior and technology and professor of communication and marketing at LUISS, and Francesco Saraceno, economist at the LUISS School of European Political Economy and director of the center of economic studies at Sciences Po in Paris.
The platform is built upon the basis of merit and relies on editorial staff who monitors and collects LUISS research as well as the University’s digital communication and press team.
