On Thursday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m., in the Viale Pola Sala delle Colonne, the LUISS School of Government hosts a lecture from Klaus Welle, Secretary-General of the European Parliament. Entitled Are the European Union and the United States Becoming Similar?, the lecture will be introduced by LUISS President Emma Marcegaglia and accompanied by a talk with Professors Sergio Fabbrini, Director of the LUISS School of Government, Amie Kreppel from the University of Florida, Nicola Lupo, professor of Elected Assembly Law from the Department of Political Science, and Robert Schuetze from Durham University.
Klaus Welle became Secretary-General of the European Parliament in March, 2009. Previously he has acted as Head of the Cabinet of the President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Poettering, General-Secretary of the European People's Party and then of the center-right coalition in the European Parliament.
