A friendly match with Yale University

On Monday, March 12, LUISS Sport hosts a friendly match with Yale.

For the team coached by Roberto Rambaudi, the match marks the second international game, in January 2017 the team faced off with Oxford University, scoring a 3-2 victory.

On Monday, the AS LUISS team will meet with the Yale team at 2:30 p.m. on the Viale Romania campus where Coach Kylie Stannard and AS LUISS manager Lorenzo Pillot will give a lecture on the respective universities’ models of integrating academics and sports.

Afterwards, the LUISS University team will face off against the Yale Bulldogs, with an opening kick from LUISS Deputy Rector Andrea Prencipe at 5:00 p.m. Also participating in the event are AS LUISS President Luigi Abete, General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto and AS LUISS Sporting Director Paolo Del Bene.

“This match is futher proof of the university’s commitment to academic and cultural exchanges with international universities who make sport a central component of their students’ educational experiences. The match marks a great opportunity to learn and grow for everyone,” declares LUISS General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto.

Following the 90-minute match, the two teams will attend an award ceremony on the Viale Romania campus.

There are currently 250 students that play on the university’s 15 teams in 10 different sports: basketball, soccer, volleyball, rowing, swimming, skiing, cycling, tennis and track and field.
