Luiss alumnus Matteo Maggiori has been selected by the American Finance Association to receive the 2021 Fischer Black Prize. Maggiori is Associate Professor of Finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and has also taught at Harvard and New York University. His research spans from analyzing exchange rate dynamics to global capital flows, the international finance system, the role of the dollar as a reserve currency, tax havens, bubbles, expectations and portfolio investments, and very long-run discount rates.
This year’s Fischer Black Prize Selection Committee is comprised of David Hirshleifer, Ralph Koijen, Amit Seru, Laura Starks and Dimitri Vayanos. Members of the AFA Selection Committee and Board present at the meeting who were eligible to vote and had no conflict of interest are: Pierre Collin-Dufresne, Andrea Eisfeldt, John Graham, David Hirshleifer, Ralph Koijen, Stefan Nagel, Anna Pavlova, Gordon Phillips, Manju Puri, James Schallheim, Laura Starks, Dimitri Vayanos and Ingrid Werner.
