Hannes Eckmayr is a graduate of the LUISS master's degree program in Management with a major in Entepreneurship and Innovation.
After graduation from the University of Vienna, his hometown, with a degree in Economics, Hannes realized he wanted to try something new: "I was looking for a university that offered excellent academics with a vast network of partner universities in a city where I could also learn a new language. LUISS responded perfectly to all my requirements."
After his first year at LUISS, Hannes applied to study abroad, choosing China, where he studied at Hong Kong University for six months. "It was an incredible experience both academically and personally. I also had the chance to travel and visited several countries in South East Asia."
Among the most influential figures during Hannes' time at LUISS were Rector Andrea Prencipe and Professor Federica Ceci. "I based my thesis on their teachings in Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital, which offered the right balance of theory and practical lessons."
He adds: "The best thing about LUISS is the people; I have made so many solid and longlasting friendships."
To international students interested in the field of Management, Hannes recommends pursuing a path similar to his: "I was happy every day I spent with LUISS. I lived in two countries, studies at two universities and had so many unforgettable experiences. I also lived in the most beautiful city in the world and made friends with students from all over Italy."
Hannes currently lives in Kenya where he works in the sales department of a startup: "During my time in China, the LUISS Career Services Office informed me about this job and I immediately leaped at the opportunity."
