Working in tourism means knowing how to make the most of a region’s potential and requires multifaceted skills: from understanding local cultures to corporate marketing. These are the kinds of skills that have allowed Diletta Luzzi and Fabrizio Puglisi, graduates of the Master in Tourism Management at the LUISS School of Government, to become part of major groups like Expedia and ENIT, the National Tourism Agency.

Diletta Luzzi

At Expedia’s Milan office, Diletta has a permanent job as a Market Associate, which she got after finishing her last year of the SoG Master with a merit scholarship. "The professionalism of the professors, combined with their constant presence and attention, made this Master an extraordinary experience. It gave me a way to really understand a sector which, up to then, I had only seen from the outside. I never realized all that went on under the surface."

Fabrizio, on the other hand, got interested in the Master after working in marketing in London. "To work in the world of tourism, which I felt was my calling, I wanted the best education: efficient facilities and a prestigious location; professional, well-prepared, experienced instructors who are always available; an excellent study plan and academic material; outstanding internship possibilities; and the invaluable opportunity to live in the most beautiful city in the world." As for internships, Fabrizio did two abroad: one in Vienna and one in Abu Dhabi, before getting a scholarship from the municipality of Rome and becoming the representative of Antenna Dubai for ENIT, which was always his greatest ambition.

Diletta, too, has no doubts about the professional effectiveness of an interdisciplinary approach: "Thanks to the commitment I made for the entire lecture period and during my internship, I am now in Milan working under contract with a leader in the world of online tourism."

Both of them associate this experience with the school’s environment and the social relationships they forged with colleagues and professors in the Master in Tourism Management. Fabrizio would like to thank the director, Carmela Decaro and the coordinator, Susanna Mensitieri, "absolute points of reference before, during and after the Master, dispensing useful and decisive advice on how to approach the world of work." According to Diletta, "the class of 2012/2013 was like a family, starting with Professor Mensitieri and Roberta Corvaro (an excellent tutor and wonderful person), as well as my friends, some of whom I became really close to. If I am where I am today, happy with what I am doing and proud of how I reached my goals, I owe it to this as well."
