From March 9 to April 30, Rome International School, owned by LUISS, hosts an exhibition with 75 archaeological treasures, recovered from illegal excavations and thefts by the special branch of the Carabinieri dedicated to protecting Italy's cultural heritage. The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT), will take place on Thursday, March 9, 2017 and among the special guests will be General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto.
For lovers of art and culture, this truly is a unique opportunity. Among the recovered works: an Etruscan terracotta sarcophagus recovered in Geneva and a large Apulian volute Krater, seized in Corsica.
A special installation is dedicated to a complete suit of armor, of which Rome International School has contributed to the restoration.
Ancient treasures will be on display in the ultra-modern setting of the school's campus; the past and the future come together to spread and defend universal values of respect, protection, legality.
The exhibition will be open to the public (free entry upon reservation), from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends.
