From August 23 until August 25, LUISS hosted the third annual Rotman European Trading Competition (RETC) in collaboration with the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
The competition gives teams from European universities the opportunity to put their knowledge to the test through a series of cases in the field of finance.
Over the course of three days, participants simulated trading strategies used in real markets.
On the first day, students competed in the Social Outcry Case to negotiate with professionals from the sector to demonstrate their ability to make decisions quickly in a chaotic environment.
On the second day, students competed in three events: the Quantitative Outcry Trading Case, the ENEL Electricity Case and the Intesa Sanpaolo Liquidity Risk Case. During all three sessions, competitors were faced with real situations to show their ability to communicate and work as teams.
On the final day, the teams faced off in the Credit Risk Case and the EIB Interest Rate Case.
The competition was brought to an end with a gala dinner and award ceremony.
