On Thursday, May 2, Gianmarco Italia and Federica Giordano, participants in Legalità e Merito, and Pietro Maria Sabella, a program coordinator, represented Luiss at Universities for Legality, promoted by Fondazione Falcone in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Education, at the University of Genoa.

During the event, a round table entitled Palermo Convention: The Legacy of Giovanni Falcone took place, with the participation of Federico Cafiero De Raho, National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor, Valeria Fazio, General Prosecutor Genoa Appeals Court and Marco Pelissero, Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Turin.

The 15 universities participating in Universities for Legality then presented their initiatives, including Luiss University’s Legalità e Merito, a series of projects in collaboration with high schools in high risk areas on the themes of legality, anti-mafia and the fight against corruption, cyberbullying and immigration.

Closing the event was Professor Maria Falcone, sister of Giovanni Falcone, who thanked the students for their participation and enthusiasm.

Seventy student ambassadors, twenty tutors and 500 students from all over Italy are confirmation of the initiative’s success, which this year also involved two prison high schools in Nisida and Rome.
