The inaugural ceremony of The Rome Technopole Foundation was held on Wednesday 8 June at Sala Senato del Palazzo del Rettorato. The event was attended by Giovanni Lo Storto, Luiss General Manager, Andrea Prencipe, Luiss Rector, and Chancellors of six universities located in Rome and the Lazio region together with the President of Regione Lazio, the Councillor for Attività produttive e pari opportunità, the Unindustria President, and representatives of four national research entities (CNR, Enea, INFN and ISS), Inail, companies based in the Lazio region, and of the Chambers of Commerce.
The establishment of the Foundation is a concrete step towards the realization of the project, co-funded by the PNRR. The Rome Technopole - Innovation Ecosystem is a regional innovation ecosystem that integrates the research, training, and innovation with entrepreneurship to form synergies to address three high-priority themes for Lazio that are energy transition, digital transition, and biopharma and health-related sectors.
The project aims to strengthen the academic excellence of Rome and the Lazio region to increase the number of graduates in most needed sectors and those of strategic regional interest. This will support growth and innovation to render the territory more attractive to businesses, youth, and investors.
