Luiss graduate Federico Riccio attended the Master’s Degree Course in International Management, choosing to pursue a Double Degree program with the Paris-Dauphine University for his final year. He concluded his academic years with a thesis on Private Equity and is now working in the Investment Banking sector.
In light of his brilliant career at the university aboard, Federico was appointed major de la promotion. During the Graduation Ceremony, he delivered a speech about the value of friendship and diversity to students. Federico stated, “This was an interesting experience for me in which I discovered the French education system, whereby students are expected to work in a company throughout the year. Throughout the 12 months, students work 3-weeks a month in the company and carry out group projects at the university for the remaining week. This new teaching approach was important, allowing me to start working quite early”.
During his time at university, the Luiss graduate sought to create a network with students, alumni and professors. This allowed him to better understand his career pathway and the companies he aspires to work in from the onset of his university experience. “Now I am contacted by students who write me to help them understand what their direction should be. The network is important to get to know new and different realities ”, he says.
Federico’s advice to future students is “to embark on as many opportunities abroad as possible because they serve for significant personal growth, even before professional development. It is important to engage in different experiences to find the job that best suits you and to always be motivated".
Among Federico’s future plans, he hopes to engage in a new work experience abroad. “I’m not making any predictions. I hope to continue to pursue the path I’m already undertaking and maintain relations with Luiss”.
