Luiss offers total exemption from the Annual Tuition Fee for students who are eligible for scholarships awarded through the competition announced by DiSCo Lazio annually at the end of May. Additionally, the University provides further grants, which may include partial or total exemptions, typically awarded through its own funding competitions. Announcements and online application forms for these grants are available at this page.
No, Luiss does not offer financial benefits based on final high school grades.
Yes, you can apply for scholarships even if your admission results have not yet been announced. If you are not admitted, your scholarship application will be excluded from the competition.
Yes, you can apply for multiple grants. If you are awarded more than one, you will need to choose one and inform the Financial Aid Office.
If you are applying for a scholarship competition for the first time, start by clicking on ‘Application Form’ and registering your personal information. After completing the registration, a User Code will be displayed (this code is for first-time access only). Next, click on ‘Login’ and enter your tax code, password, and User Code to access the Application Area. From there, you can fill out the form for the competition you are interested in.
Unless specified otherwise, you must meet all the requirements listed in the call by the application deadline.
If a motivation letter is required, it should be addressed to the Luiss Guido Carli Scholarship Commission. The letter can be written in either Italian or English.
Luiss does not accept expired DSUs or ISEEs. While you are waiting to receive the results of the admission test, it is advisable to request the ISEE certificate from a CAF (Centro Assistenza Fiscale, Tax Advice Centre) or your accountant, specifically for benefits related to university study.
Luiss offers total or partial reductions on the Annual Tuition Fee for:
- Students who have received a scholarship awarded by the University
- Students who were eligible or won in the annual competition announced by DiSCo Lazio
- Students with a sibling enrolled at Luiss
- Students in facilitated categories, as defined by current regulations (i.e., students with a certified disability of 66% or higher, dependents of individuals receiving a disability pension)
- Single or unmarried students with children under 6 years of age
Luiss has established agreements with several Italian banks to offer students flexible and convenient financing options without requiring collateral.
For more information, contact frainaldi@luiss.it or call +39 06 8522 5406.
If you are granted a total exemption, you are required to pay the first instalment of the Tuition Fee by the deadline set by the University. This payment will be refunded by crediting a current account or pre-paid card in the student’s name. The second and third instalments will be automatically cancelled.
The call specifies which instalments the partial exemption will apply to. Typically, the partial exemption covers the second and third instalments, which will be recalculated based on the value of the grant. You must pay the first instalment by the deadline set by Luiss.
Yes, students with a GMAT score below 710 or its GRE equivalent can still participate in the competition. Their applications will be considered for the total exemptions if funds are still available after awarding the grants.
Reminders are sent by the University to all students, regardless of their grant status. If you have been awarded a full or partial exemption and your merit requirements are met, you do not need to take any immediate action. Wait for further instructions from the University to finalise your administrative status.
No, there is no need to submit a specific application. In July, the University will review the merit of all students automatically.
The requirements for confirmation are detailed in the call for applications. If the notice specifies a required percentage of CFUs (i.e., 70%), all exams from previous years will be considered, not just those from the final year. You can check your weighted average in the Web Self-Service portal.
Yes, for the 2024/2025 academic year, Luiss will award 50 exemptions from the second instalment of the Tuition Fee for students who demonstrate exceptional academic merit. Additionally, to support international mobility, the University offers grants to final-year students to partially cover the costs of preparing their theses abroad. Announcements and application forms for these opportunities can be found on the scholarship page of the website.
Yes, as approved by the Luiss Academic Senate, students enrolled in a Level I Master’s Degree Programme who are admitted directly to the course may receive a 50% exemption from the Tuition Fee for their second year, provided they meet certain criteria. To qualify, students must earn all the CFUs required in their study plan by the end of the summer exam session of the first year, with an average grade of 28/30 or higher. CFUs from exams taken during the Master’s Degree Programme and recognised towards the degree are also included in the calculation.

Bando DiSCo Lazio
To participate in the DiSCo Lazio competition, visit the website www.laziodisco.it and complete the online application form according to the instructions in the call. The competition is open to all students who are enrolled or admitted, provided they meet the economic requirements based on their household’s ISEE and ISPE values. Starting from the second year, a merit requirement is also necessary, based on the number of credits earned as of 10 August.
The call for applications is published annually by DiSCo Lazio between the end of May and the beginning of June. Applications can be submitted until July. Refer to the Announcement on the DiSCo Lazio website for updates.
Eligible: If you are deemed eligible, Luiss will grant you a full exemption from the Tuition Fee payment.
Winner: If you are selected as a winner, you will receive both a full exemption from the Tuition Fee payment and a cash contribution from DiSCo Lazio. The amount of the cash contribution varies based on your residence status (on-site, commuting or off-site) and your ISEE value.
Yes, you can participate in multiple scholarship competitions, including the DiSCo Lazio call for applications. If you are awarded more than one scholarship, you must inform the Financial Aid Office of the scholarship you have chosen to accept.
Meeting the requirements does not automatically grant you total exemption from the Tuition Fee. You must wait for the publication of the final list by DiSCo Lazio. You must pay the first instalment as scheduled, and the University will refund it once the exemption is confirmed.
No, the Degree Fee is not covered by the DiSCo Lazio scholarship. The regional tax for the right to study, which is specific to the autonomous regions and provinces, is not included in the exemption.
No, students who have won the Erasmus grant can still participate in the annual DiSCo Lazio call for applications and continue to receive total exemption. When participating in the regional call for applications, you can also apply for international mobility grants to cover the extra expenses incurred during your period abroad. These grants are compatible with, but not cumulative with, the Erasmus grant.
DiSCo Lazio will send an official communication of the final ranking results directly to us. Once we receive the list of eligible and winning students, we will arrange reimbursements and request the Secretariat to update the total exemptions on Web Self-Service. All necessary information will be shared with participants as soon as it is available.
DiSCo Lazio will ask us to confirm the administrative positions of our students. Once we receive the list of eligible students from the regional body, we will confirm and unblock the positions of those affected. This process does not impact your ranking position, and no action is required from you.
No, the grant is annual and must be reapplied for each year.
Part-time collaborations
Every summer, Luiss organises a competition for part-time collaborations in various university offices. These collaborations can be for up to 200 hours during the academic year and are paid €8.00 per hour. The ranking for these positions is based on merit (CFU and weighted average), and in the event of a tie, the student with the lower ISEE will be given preference.
Yes, receiving a scholarship does not prevent you from being assigned a part-time paid collaboration.
If you choose to terminate your part-time collaboration early, you will be paid for the number of hours you have actually worked and certified.
Degree Award
The abstract can be written in Italian or English and must not exceed 3-4 pages unless otherwise specified in the call for applications.
Yes, Degree Awards granted by Luiss are compatible with the DiSCo Lazio Degree Prize. For Degree Prizes granted by other institutions, it is advisable to verify any potential incompatibilities by contacting the granting institution directly.
