The Call for Applications for three collaboration contracts on the EU- funded project DCS is now online.
Interested candidates should present their application by Saturday 18 November at 3 pm.
DCS project aims to develop new methods to characterize the equilibrium dynamics of rich distributions, for a rigorous understanding of the forces that impinge on the aggregate economic behavior in the presence of heterogeneity. The applications are aimed at understanding the role that such heterogeneity plays in the workings of the economy and its ability to respond to shocks in the presence of frictions and lumpy behavior (infrequent large adjustments), as is the case for durable purchases, technology adoption, portfolio adjustments, investment, and price setting.
The purpose of this comparative evaluation selection procedure is to select 3 collaborators:
- Position n. 1: A specialist in applications of Mean field games (MFG) to economic models that feature lumpy behaviour, in particular on price setting and means of payments. The task is the development of the economic models, its implications, and the identification of the parameters for actual data sets.
- Position n. 2: A specialist in p.d.e. methods applied to MFG to impulse control models, as well on finite difference schemes. The task is in using analytical methods to characterize the equilibrium behaviour of MFG as well as the suitability of finite difference approximations schemes for numerical solutions.
- Position n. 3: A specialist in applied micro data in both price setting and means of payments. The task is to estimate using large cross sectional methods models of lumpy behaviour applied to investment, price setting and adoption of means of payments.
The contracts will start on the first day of the month following the awarding of the contract and will end on September 30, 2027 .
The Call for Applications and the application form are available here.
The following documents must be attached to the application:
- curriculum vitae in English including the most relevant scientific publications;
- copy of a valid identity document;
The selection of the three winners, which will be carried out by a specially appointed Evaluation Committee, will consist of an analysis of the candidates’ CV. A particular emphasis will be based on the publications’ track record in the field of position.
The outcome of the selection procedure and the final ranking are published on the related Luiss webpage.
