By the end of 2020, the findings of research funded by the San Pio V Institute of Political Studies will be published in Bordeaux. I participated in the research in 2018 and 2019. The book is entitled Uniti si può, or United We Can. European Union values are in crisis. In addition to editing the book, I wrote an article on migration policy between realpolitik and our founding values. We are working on presenting our work at various universities and institutions, including Luiss.

Our research

According to Article 2 of the Treaty on the European Union, the Union is founded on respect for human dignity, the rule of law and respect for human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities. These values hold all Member States together in a society characterized by pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality between men and women.

From the signing of the Treaty of Rome in 1957, these principles have guided us through the long process of European integration. Over the past sixty years, these values, the foundation of the European Union,  have continually expanded, and thus, have seen a constant and substantial strengthening.
